What:
Friday May 20th
Tech Session: Friday, 11:00 not
sure what we're doing this year, last year we did a tune up on Titanic
if you plan on being in town let me know. We did decide that we didn't
quite have time to rebuild a Torqueflite or 413 in 4 hours :-) Have something
you want to learn how to fix on your NYB or Imperial????
Driving Tour: Last year we did a driving tour of the
Jetty and then an Art Gallery devoted to Automobile Art. The Year before
it was the Lighthouse, I haven't figured out the drive plan yet, but I'll
have one.. However it will start at 3:00pm on Friday afternoon, We are
meeting at Bobs Dry Cleaners in The Dunes Village shopping Center. This
is on the SE corner of HWY 101 and HWY 126.
Dinner: 7:30pm Anyone in town can meet for dinner at
our 50's Cafe . You can't miss it, there's half a pink Cadillac on one
side of the bldg, and a giant Bob's Big Boy out front. This is just North
of Hwy126 on the west side of Hwy 101. I do make reservations so please
drop me a note if you think you might attend.
Saturday May 21 the
Rhody Show and Shine - registration starts at 8:30am We are meeting
at the Dry Cleaners(see directions above)at 7am so that we can drive in
together so that we may
park together. This show is a first come first serve basis. Show ends
at 4:00pm with a Mexican dinner at our house cooked by the lovely Linda
Sutton the long suffering wife of Mikey Sutton.. Let me remind you that
you're Imperial does not need to be in perfect condition for this event
it is a VERY casual show. It does need to be 73 or older to park in the
show. However we've had several 80's Imperials and this year a 90 Imperial
will be in attendance, and there is parking near by so that we can all
peruse them. The best thing about this event is talking and seeing other
Imperials. The show is located in the Grocery Outlet Shopping Center 1/4
mile North of HWY 126 on HWY 101 on the East side of the Street.
After
the show it's dinner and then the Cruise through old town. This is when
we get to view all the Harley's that are lining the streets of Old Towne
Florence. Last year people held up signs and it was just a really fun
experience.. I about rolled on the floor, when someone held up the sign
that said "Does your grandmother know that you have her car? "
For those of you who don't get it, read Titanic's
Story.....Then we usually take a leisurely drive back to the house
and take turns swapping cars for whoever is interested in participating.
I've most enjoyed getting to drive Roger Van Hoys Desoto and Mikey's 62
Imperial. Then it's back to our house for the Bonfire, Brew and S'mores
party.
Sunday stay for our parade if you aren't in a hurry
to get out of town. 1:00pm
