The PCM may need being reset from time to time. Resetting wipes any error codes from the PCM, and can be used to get the PCM out of limp mode or any other such problem (although all of that is just a temp fix unless the problems which caused the PCM to act up are fixed).
Just take off the battery from the car and hook it up again after a few seconds.
