It is located in St. Paul MN, and it is my cousin in CA actually selling it
(this was my late uncle's car since it was new). He wants to get $1500 out of
it.
I've loved this car since I was a kid, but I don't have time or money or space
needed to take on a project like this. I'm hoping to find it a good home where
it can be enjoyed and appreciated (in other words no demolition derby or stuff
like that).
It starts & runs, although not too well - it needs a carb cleaning and major tune up. It has been started periodically over the years but not driven beyond the driveway for at least 4-5 years as far as I know.
Every single light & electrical accessory in & on the entire vehicle works, including the headlight covers.
The air conditioning needs a compressor in order to work, but there are none available from parts stores so it would mean a custom fit or rebuild of the old one if that is even possible.
There is a coolant hose leaking but otherwise the engine is in good shape. It is a 440 cubic inch with a 4 barrel carburetor. 102,000 original miles. I replaced the fuel pump and filter earlier this year.
There is also a loose steering component (an "idler arm") that needs to be replaced, and again there are none in parts stores but when I originally looked at this about 7-8 years ago I found there are places that can custom manufacture a replacement fairly cheap, we just never had it done at the time.
The body is in remarkably good shape, but some previously repaired rust on the bottoms of the door skins & fenders has come back. I haven't put it up on a hoist or anything to closely check the underside, but the floorboards and trunk pan feel very solid and appear to be in great shape from an outside glance.
