We recently saw this '62 Imperial Crown drag racer sale. Here's what the owner had to say about this car:
This one of a kind 1962 Chrysler Imperial was built by Bob Bardos Hot Rod shop in Hawaii. It was their drag car for the shop. When I picked it up, the motor was wasted and the transmission was slipping, so I pulled the motor and the transmission, I had a 440 built for the car with Keith Black flat top pistons 30 over, Heads ported and polished stainless steel valves, Six pack cam, Dual Edelbrock 600CFM carbs, Sanderson block huger headers, Mopar performance ignition(MSD box is still in the car), Taylor full metal jacket wires,3inch custom exhaust with cut outs and flam throwers, the transmission was rebuilt with a shift kit, Power steering unit rebuilt, new aluminum dual pass radiator, the dash and ignition wiring was all replaced. Disc brakes all the way around, Posi rear end. The car is two tone: black and dark green with blue green flams.
Ive put about 700 miles on the car scents the motor was put in. This car is a driver, its won a number of car shows but its not perfect. There are some chips in the paint, chrome has some pitting, headliner has a tear, speedometer cable is broken, A/C lines need to be hooked up.
If you're the new owner come and join The Imperial Club and tell us more about this unusual car!
