Floyd Clymer was a pioneer in the automotive world. Although his first love was motorcycles, his first encounter with Imperial was in 1926 setting the world record by driving a stock Imperial from Denver to Kansas City in June 1926 in 13 hours and 56 minutes. This accomplishment was performed on 702 unpaved, heavily rutted miles of roads and not a smooth track.
By 1961, Floyd was writing for his own publication, Automobile Topics. These photos were proofs for a article on the cross-crountry road test for the new Imperial Crown. If you happen to have a copy of that article, please let us know! |
