I found this 1959 Imperial Crown Coupe on Craigslist in Pennsylvania the first part of summer 2012. I had been looking for quite some time for just the right car. The description for this car was buried in another ad for a 1957 Cadillac. I think that is why I was able to get it before someone else grabbed it. I talked to the owner on and off through out the summer. He had some personal things come up and he found a few problems with the car and didn't want to sell it until those problems were fixed. I thought that was generous of him. Finally, in the fall, I was able to arrange a trip down to see the car. It was love at first sight. That was the first time I had ever seen a late fifties Imperial in person. I have seen plenty of other Imperials at car shows but never one from 1957-1959. I love the elegance of Exner's design. The Southhampton roof, the fightsweep deck and the flow of the tailfins. Pure art. I was hooked and she was mine. I arranged to have her shipped back to Vermont and she was here two weeks later.
