1957 was the last year that single headlights were officially required. As some Southern states were slow to revise their motor vehicle codes, the quad headlight cars were not legal in all 50 states, and the single headlight cars were produced in limited quantities for them. The single headlight modules are die-cast and chrome plated - very heavy affairs, with oversized lamp lenses that are really quite something to see in person. These cars are rare and interesting as a design side-note today for this reason. |
