Just kidding! Actually it was pretty easy! When we first got Alexandra (1973 Triple Black), her package tray (shelf behind the back seat) was pretty lousy looking. This was because of leaking around the rear window. We had to fix the rear window leak first. After the window was fixed, we located a package shelf in a donor car (1973 Newport with rear window defroster) for just 5 bucks! We got some material to match the cloth covering from my upholstery guy. Ed had to use his Dremel tool to trim the shelf to the exact size of the old shelf, which we used as a pattern. After it was sized, I used some black spray paint to paint the shelf. Then it was a simple matter to use some spray adhesive and glue the material to the cardboard shelf. After the glue dries and the material is secure, just spray it with the black paint, and it is ready to go! Only one thing I would do differently, is use matte paint instead of gloss, it is simply too shiny in the back window. But, it sure looks a lot better, as you can see below.
