Imperial Homepage -> Repair -> Brakes -> Removal
Question from Dale (1964):
Can someone advise on how to remove the rear drums. The brakes are also very sensitive. If I barely touch the pedal the front brakes really grab, and just about send me through the windshield. Any advise?
Reply from Dick:
A '64 requires a special "hub puller" to remove the rear drums. These are often available at tool rental places. Be sure to get directions with it, or post a question here, unless you are experienced with these brutal devices. You can do a lot of damage to yourself or your car if you don't follow the right procedure.
