Imperial Home Page -> Events -> 2004 Chattanooga Meet
The 8th Annual Southern Imperial & Chrysler Meet was held at the home of Robert and Laqueta Soule in Chattanooga, Tennessee, on Friday, May 28th through Monday, May 31st, 2004. With more than 30 cars in attendance, the meet has continued to grow each year!
Friday, May 28th - Dinner, informal hamburger/hot dog cookout at 7:00 PM EDT at the home of Robert and Laqueta Soule, followed by a tour of the Soule garage, machine shop, and parts collection. Oh yeah, and the car collection!
Saturday, May 29th - We started the day at the Soule home to drive, kick tires, share stories, tell lies, drool, etc. As we did last year, we took a 20 mile trip to the Tennessee Valley Railroad Museum for lunch at the Depot Deli. The Railroad Museum has a very nice pine thicket picnic area located next to a grass field that made a great area for parking and taking pictures. Many of us took advantage of the Museums vintage steam locomotive and enjoyed a train ride between their 2 stations.
Saturday Dinner - We met at the Soule residence at 6:00 p.m. for a caravan to the Soddy-Daisy Sonic for dinner.
Sunday, May 30th - Sunday was a relaxing day allowing groups to explore the Scenic Chattanooga area. Many of us enjoyed fine motoring in an Imperial or Chrysler product to such attractions as Lookout Mountain, Rock City, Ruby Falls, the Chattanooga ChooChoo, the Chattanooga Aquarium, the Walnut Street Bridge, and many more! MUCH more information on all kinds of Chattanooga attractions can be found at http://www.chattanoogafun.com/.
Monday, May 31st - The final wind down and wrap-up of this great weekend!

This 1960 Corvair sedan originally belonged to Robert Soule's Grandmother. It's become something of a beloved mascot at these meets, probably due to it's golf-cart-like characteristics in comparison to the Imperials and Chryslers around it. |
And a Packard parts car . . . 'cause everyone needs a few parts cars! |
